Easy Apple Pizza Recipe

I love to incorporate cooking projects in my preschool classroom, and the first recipe we make each year is this Easy Apple Pizza Recipe.  I always kick off our Alphabet lessons with an Apple Theme for the letter A and we end the week with making Easy Apple Pizzas!

This Easy Apple Pizza Recipe is simple to put together, even for preschoolers.  The key is to have everything prepared ahead of time.  This cooking activity is a great way to talk about kitchen safety, following directions, healthy foods, and simple math skills. Plus it encourages children to make their own food and try new things!  Also…the hallways will smell AMAZING when you make these Easy Apple: Pizzas!

Cooking with Preschoolers

Easy Apple Pizza Recipe:

Ingredients:

Ingredients quantity depends on how many students you have!!  I tend to over-buy on the ingredients and make extra apple pizzas for school staff.  This is what you need for each student:

One refrigerated biscuit (I use Pillsbury Grands)

A few spoonfuls of Chopped Apples

A pat or squeeze of butter – I use the squeezable Parkay for this recipe because it’s easiest for little hands to manipulate

A few spoonfuls of Shredded Cheddar

A quick shake of Cinnamon & Sugar

Instructions:

1. Flatten one refrigerator biscuit.

2. Put chopped apples on biscuit.

3. Sprinkle a little shredded cheddar cheese over the apples.

4. Sprinkle cinnamon & sugar over cheese.

5. Squirt a bit of butter on top.

6. Bake at 400◦ for 8-12 minutes or until the biscuit is golden & the cheese is melted.

Cool for a few minutes and then Enjoy!

PS – for Chopping the apples, I love using this Food Chopper from Pampered Chef (not an ad, just love it!).  I have had this thing for ages and it is still going strong!  It’s also great for chopping onions without tears.

Enjoy this Easy Apple Pizza Recipe!
